The situation in the forging machine tool industry is good, and there is an excess production of large forgings
The forging and pressing machine tool industry performed well in the first half of the year, achieving a stable and competitive situation. The production of large forgings is severely surplus, and it is expected that demand will be weak in the second half of the year. In the first half of 2014, the large forging industry remained generally stable and achieved steady progress. Due to severe overcapacity in the large forging industry, it is predicted that industry demand will remain weak in the second half of the year, and the industry will maintain a stable growth trend. Through ten member units of the China Forging Association Forging Council: China First Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd., China Second Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Heavy Machinery Factory Co., Ltd., CITIC Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Tongyu Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Gubei Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd., Taiyuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Zhongyuan Special Steel Co., Ltd., Jiangyin Nangong Forging Co., Ltd The economic data of Yantai Taihai Manuel Nuclear Power Equipment Co., Ltd. in the first half of the year can provide a rough understanding of the operation of the large forging industry in the first half of 2014. From January to June 2014, the production and total sales of large forgings showed a consistent trend. Change trend: There is a downward trend from January to February, reaching its highest point from March to May, and a slight decrease in June. Among them, March, April, May, and June were all higher than February. A comparison was made between the monthly forging production of forging enterprises from January to June 2013 and 2014. Except for a decrease in year-on-year production in March, all other months showed an increasing trend. Among them, January has the fastest growth rate. From January to June 2014, the total sales of the large forging industry reached its lowest point in February, and increased month by month from March to June, reaching its highest point in June. Compared with the first half and second half of 2013, the total sales revenue of the large forging industry has increased. Overall, in the first half of 2014, the production and sales of the large forging industry both increased. However, the competition for homogeneous and low-priced large forging products is severe, leading to a decline in overall industry profits. Among them, the profit of marine crankshaft blank forgings is extremely low, and even the sales price is lower than the cost. Enterprises holding orders for nuclear power forgings, those capable of producing specific products, and those with flexible management mechanisms that can keep up with market changes in the first half of the year have shown good development momentum and are in a profitable state. Some large state-owned enterprises are still in a loss making state, but the extent of their losses has decreased. China's heavy forging industry has severe overcapacity, targeting only the low-end product market. For the mid to high end product market of large forgings, it is still occupied by foreign large forging enterprises for a long time. How to effectively develop the mid to high end product market of large forgings through effective measures such as research on common technologies of large forgings, specific product process reengineering, and strict process control will be a long-term and sustainable project for large forging enterprises in China.
